Archives - enquiries

 

Enquiries are welcomed by letter, telephone, e-mail and in person.

Archives staff will carry out a free brief search on behalf of private researchers unable to visit the office in person.  A charge will be made for more detailed research.  Please contact staff at the Archives and Records Centre for more details.

We can supply photocopies and photographic prints, subject to copyright and the condition of the document.  At least 24 hours notice must be given for photocopies of documents over A3 size.  Please contact staff at the Archives and Records Centre for details of our current photocopying charges.

Genealogy

The Archives does not have records which will help with the initial stages of genealogical research. Enquiries should be made to the West Lothian Council Local History Library or the General Register Office  .

Local History

General enquiries relating to the history of West Lothian should be made to the West Lothian Council Local History Library
