Business Gateway on the move

West Lothian Council’s Business Gateway service is moving into new premises at West Lothian Connected in The Centre, Livingston.

The Business Gateway service provides advice and support for people thinking of starting up in business as well as consultancy support and assistance for local businesses looking to grow.

The new office at The Centre will open to the public from Monday 30th January and will continue to offer both new and growing businesses a one stop shop support service with assistance accessing advice, support and funding.

The existing office at The Enterprise Centre on Almondvale Boulevard will be closing permanently from Friday 27th January.  As well as the new office, individuals and can continue to meet with advisers at a wide variety of outreach locations including Bathgate Partnership Centre, County Buildings in Linlithgow, Fauldhouse Partnership Centre and Whitburn Customer Information Services (CIS) centre.

Business Gateway's programme of free workshops for both start-up and growth firms meanwhile are transferring to the Civic Centre in Livingston.

"The new office will be of great benefit to the local business community," said Executive councillor for development and transport Martyn Day of West Lothian Council.  "The Enterprise Centre has served West Lothian firms well for the last 15 years but the new location will enable Business Gateway to support even more firms to start up in West Lothian in 2012."

Alice Sinnet, Economic Development Manager added: "The key focus for Business Gateway is to support as many new and expanding businesses as possible.

"We are continuing to help a wide variety of entrepreneurs across West Lothian and this new office will enable us to concentrate our resources on safeguarding jobs and growth for West Lothian."
