Peter Johnston - Leader of West Lothian Council
As Leader of West Lothian Council, Councillor Johnston (SNP) Chairs the Council Executive, Education Executive, Appeals Committee, Avoidance of Disputes Committee, and Policy and Resources Policy Development and Scrutiny Panel.
Councillor Johnston is the Executive Portfolio Holder for Policy and Resources, the Chairperson for the Local Area Committee, and a member of the Health and Care Policy Development and Scrutiny Panel, Joint Consultative Group and the Joint Consultative Group (Teaching Staff). He is also an elected member representative of Lothian and Borders Fire Board. His council appointments to outside bodies include the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, COSLA's Executive Group - Modern Governance, Livingston Youth Trust and Community Planning Partnership Board.
Update: 28 May '09: Leader is appointed to Lothian NHS BoardLeader of West Lothian Council Peter Johnston has been appointed as a non-executive member of Lothian NHS Board. Councillor Johnston is also Chair of the West Lothian Community Planning Partnership and previously served as a non-executive Board member of the West Lothian NHS Trust.
