Consultations
A major programme of consultation events are underway to seek your views and to help shape the future of West Lothian.
The West Lothian Community Planning Partnership is looking for opinions on how the area should develop looking towards the year 2020.
The partnership, which is made up of statutory, voluntary and private sector organisations including the council, NHS, police and fire and rescue, would like to hear as many thoughts as possible from a range of individuals and groups on their vision of West Lothian's future.
The current Community Plan, Shaping the Future, outlines a direction of travel and activity until 2010. However, West Lothian has changed significantly since this plan was agreed in 2000.
A spokesperson for the Community Planning Partnership said: "West Lothian is Scotland's fastest growing area, and will alter dramatically between now and 2020.
"We are looking for views to determine the wider vision of West Lothian's future, to help agree on priorities and aspirations for the area over the next decade and beyond.
"The key question we want to ask people is: What are your hopes for West Lothian in 2020? From this we can discover the overall aspirations for the whole community rather than issues about specific services.
"We want people to consider what age they will be by 2020 and consider what their needs might be, as well as the future needs of children and grandchildren. This feedback could be in areas such as housing, community facilities, transport, health or business.
"This is your chance to have your say on determining a vision of West Lothian for the future."
