Summer Safe West Lothian

Summer Safe West LothianWest Lothian Council, supported by its Community Planning Partners, has launched a 'Summer Safe' campaign which aims to help everyone, and in particular children and young people, to have a safe fun summer.

The aim of the campaign is to ensure that everyone has a safe fun summer and that whether activities are planned, or not, someone takes a few minutes to make sure that everyone is safe.

West Lothian Council has worked with its Community Planning Partners to bring you a few top tips for staying safe during the summer.

Manager of West Lothian Community Safety Unit, Inspector Michaela Kerr, said: "Summer holidays are almost upon us and it is time to reflect on what your children will be doing over the summer holiday period. Children will inevitably have more free to time, to play and exercise and generally a percentage of this time will be unsupervised. Therefore, parents have to take responsibility to ensure that their children are as safe as possible, in and around the home and when outside playing."
