No parking during gas installation works
No parking will be allowed on either side of the road between number 5 and 69 East Main Street, Uphall, from 5 January to 8 February.
The restriction, which will apply from 7am to 6pm each day, is to allow the installation of a new gas main and services.
Go ahead given for odour-eating tower
West Lothian Council's development control committee has approved plans to build an air purification tower at Grampian Country Foods in Broxburn.
Nearby residents have complained about the smell from the plant, and it is hoped the 11-metre tower will address the ongoing odour issues.
Views wanted on memorial plans
The views of the Broxburn and Uphall public are being sought over plans to create an outdoor war memorial for the towns.
Councillor Ellen Glass, who chairs the local area committee said: "I'm pleased that plans are progressing well to create a fitting outdoor tribute to the towns' war heroes.
"Now we want to hear the views of people from Broxburn and Uphall on the plans. Local school children have been involved in producing designs on which the war memorial will be based.
- The next meeting of the Broxburn and Uphall War Memorial Steering Group will be held in Uphall Community Centre on Wednesday, 21 January, at 6:30pm.
Speaker arranged for group's next meeting
The newly-formed branch of Dyslexia Scotland in West Lothian will hold its next meeting on Wednesday 21 January from 7 to 9pm in Dechmont Community Hall.
Everyone is welcome, young and old, and there will be refreshments served.

Polish art competition proves a big draw
Pupils at two West Lothian schools took part in an art competition aimed at raising awareness of the area's sizeable Polish community.
Children from Broxburn's St Nicholas Primary School used Polish fairy tales for inspiration, while first year pupils at Broxburn Academy focused on Polish artists and architects.
The project was organised by West Lothian Council's Locality Planning team and is supported by a multi agency group including other council services.
Councillor Ellen Glass, chair of the Broxburn local area committee and one of the judges of the competition, said: "We received a number of impressive entries for this competition, and I?d like to thank everyone who took part."
Resolution of canal problem
West Lothian Council's neighbourhood response team is continuing to work jointly with the community constables and safer neighbourhood team in the Broxburn, Uphall and Winchburgh ward.
A recent success has seen the resolution of a problem involving adult males gathering next to the Union Canal bridge in Broxburn.
